We have a "Getting Your Bees Approved" document that addresses some of these concerns. See our website. I suggest you reach out to your school's insurance group to ensure the project would be covered. We have many school public districts that have been able to work with the Risk and Liability and Legal groups to bring honey bees to their campuses. I am happy to talk with you further if you have specific questions. Thank you for reaching out. Tami

Hi folks,

I am a beekeeper and also director at a public school, and am excited about this program, but I am concerned about liability issues. How do schools deal with concerns about students with bee allergies?

We could secure the hives themselves, but could we still be held liable for simply raising the population of bees in the vicinity?

Would typical school insurance cover us?

Thanks for your help!
